This is a game report using the Forsaken rules. It is a scenario involving humans, werewolves and vampires. I ran this scenario recently at Cold Wars and plan on including it in the Forsaken rules.

The story below give an overview of the main events that occured in the game. It doesn’t cover each move or every time someone was wounded. But you should get an idea of what went down.

Here are the groups involved in the scenario.

Order of the Undying Light - Founded by Father Connelly, this group is are aware of the supernatural. They strive to protect society from harm and fight these supernatural horrors. The Order have learned that the werewolves are looking for the Amulet of Amathra. Recently one of the Order’s members, Luke, found the Amulet of Amathra and stashed it somewhere, but Luke has disappeared. The Order has learned that something is going down tonight near Luke’s gunstore and home. The Order is going to that side of town to protect any mortals, search for the amulet, and any information about Luke’s disappearance. (From left to right) Tara, Mike, Keisha, Father Connelly and Sarah

Silver Fangs – A pack of werewolves that live just outside Providence city. They have been going into the city to look for the Amulet of Amathra. A prophecy foretells that the lycanthrops will enter a golden age when they possess the Amulet of Amathra. They have have a good lead to the where abouts of the amulet. Tonight they plan on obtaining it.

Black Court Vampires – The Black Court Vampires are out for blood because the Silver Fangs have been entering their territory and they despise the skinwalkers. The Black Court are out for carnage and to stop the Silver Fangs from finding their trinket.

The Board - Here is the layout for the game a few blocks of the area surrounding Luke’s gunstore and apartment.

The Game

Civilians go about their business late in the evening. Little do they realize three groups are converging on the area for a confrontation.

Mike enters the board and quickly and senses a hot spot. He moves to the area and searches for the Amulet. Unfortunately he does not find anything. (Throughout the board are magical hotspots. All three groups are attuned to these areas. Some are just weak borders were magic bleeds over from other worlds, others are where powerful artifacts or spells currently are or have recently been).

Maeve boldly walks down the middle of the street trying to sense any werewolves. (The Vampires have heightened senses and so have a chance to detect werewolves in human form).

Alexis breaks into the garage and searches the building for the amulet. Her efforts are for naught. She does not find anything worthwhile.

The rest of the Order move onto the board surveying the area. (The order cannot detect werewolves in human form. Also they do not know who is a vampire until they get close or see them attacking someone).

Gregor sees a human photographer digging through a garbage can searching for something. He views all humans as cattle and could care less if they die. Gregor is unsure if the guy searching is one of the werewolves or a human but he opens fire anyway. The bullets rip into the photographers chest and amazingly he does not die. (Werewolves are very tough creatures. They are tougher than the average human when in human form. They get even tougher when they shape change to a werewolf).

After failing to find anything Alexis sees a drunk bum walking by the garage. Alexis attempts to sense if the bum is a werewolf on note. But the strong odor of alcohol over powers her and she cannot tell. Alexis hears the gun shots down the street and decides it is time to start the carnage. So instead of wasting time detecting if the bum is a werewolf or not she opens fire on the bum and kills him. Well know she knows he was a human.

Maeve moves across the street faster then is humanly possible. (Maeve has the special ability Haste and is able to have one extra action. But it comes at a price, she takes wounds when she uses the ability as she calls on her own life force to move so quickly). While moving she senses that the wounded photographer is a werewolf in human form. She realizes now is the best time to kill the werewolf before he shape changes into a hand to hand nightmare. So she opens fire with her pistol that has silver bullets. The silver bullets rip into the photography (actually the werewolf Harris) and he drop to the pavement. (Werewolves have a weakness to silver and thus take extra damage when hurt by a silver weapon).

(Since lots of shots have been fired the civilians have called the police and they start fleeing the area).

Tara and Keisha hear the gunshots and move towards the sounds to find out what is going on.

Gregor had moves up to the bus station and searches through it. He finds a piece of the amulet hidden under the bench. He moves back into the wood and turns into mist form. (This was done over two of Gregor’s turns. Each member of the three groups in the game have one or more special abilities. One of Gregor’s abilities is to be able to change into mist form.)

Both Fane and Nuala hear the gunshots plus with their keen senses they can smell that the blood suckers are near by. (In the scenario werewolves have such improved senses they automatically know who the vampires are). The werewolves know the Order of Undying Light are in the area (they walked right by them). Both Fane and Nuala shape change and get prepared for a fight. But their objective first and foremost still is to find the pieces of the amulet.

Tara looks around the corner and spots Maeve gun done a civilian photographer (at least to them it looked like a civilian). Tara recognizes Maeve as one of the Black Court vampires and fires a wooden crossbow bolt at her but misses.

Fane charges Keisha and attackers her in hand-to-hand. Fane’s claws easily rip through Keisha’s clothes and flesh but amazingly her trained combat skills keep her alive for now. (Werewolves are some of the nastiest creatures in hand-to-hand. A human rarely can survive an attack from a werewolf. Amazingly Keisha only takes a few wounds).

Tara draws Maeve’s attention with the crossbow bolt. Maeve again moves quickly using Haste and attacks Tara. Tara takes some bad wounds but keeps on fighting. Stephon sees Maeve having all the fun and moves up to join Maeve in the killing spree.

Nuala then attacks Keisha from behind. Unfortunately Keisha’s luck doesn’t hold out. Nuala rips her to pieces and Keisha drop to the pavement no longer moving.

The civilians continue to flee especially after seeing these wild animals attack and kill a woman.

Sirens are have been heard and the Police have arrived on the scene. Getting out of the car and pulling their guns the Police tell everyone to get on the ground and drop their weapons. Only then do they realize there are massive creatures attacking a woman shredding her to pieces.

Mean while far from the carnage Mike climbs up a billboard and searches another hot spot. But again he comes up empty handed.

Father Connelly and Sarah hear the fight happening and run to help out the other members of the Order.

Tara attacks Maeve and manages to wound her but it is difficult for Tara to get through her defenses.

Maeve renews her efforts against Tara again with a blinding flurry of attacks and gets a devastating blow in which kills Tara instantly. (Maeve took Tara below half of her wounds and got a critical wound on her. The critcal wound was a very lucky hit and it killed Tara instantly despite having remaining wounds.)

Fane and Nuala know their most important thing is to find the amulet pieces. With the vampires and police there they know they will draw the most attention. So they run into the apartment building while everyone is wrapped up in the confusion of the fight.

Nuala moves to the second floor and searches the apartment for the amulet. Fane joins Nuala in the search.

Stephon runs into combat with a police officer. Using his expert expert skills with his sword, Stephon decapitates the officer and moves to take on the next police officer.

The other officer fires at Stephon with his pistol but misses as he is shaken from all that he is witnessing.

While the fight continues down below Nuala and Fane shape shift back to their human form and find some clothes in the apartment to put on. They know they will draw less attention in human form especially with the police around.

Seeing Tara’s body, Sarah runs to face her killer. She comes around the corner with her shotgun ready and fires at Maeve. Catching her off guard Maeve takes the blast and is badly wounded. Sarah fires the second barrel but fails to wound Maeve further. (Vampire have Regeneration lv 1 so the can heal wounds over time. Werewolves have Regeneration lv 2 and heal from wounds even faster. But this is not automatic they have to pass an ability test in order to regenerate.)

While in mist form Gregor moved to the top of the gas station canopy and changed back into his solid form. Now Gregor opens fire on Mike as he moves down the street. Mike is hit but it is a minor wound.

Mike charges Alexis and hits her multiple times with his crowbar. Alexis takes a beating but is still standing.

Father Connelly comes to the aid of the cop and uses his faith to try and drive the vampires back. (Faith is a special ability that makes it difficult for enemy models to attack and can drive the enemy away). Maeve is not phased by the Faith but Stephon withdraws. Father Connelly then follows up and throws a bottle of holy water at Stephon. Unfortunately his aim is off and the holy water only splashes on Stephon’s boots without hurting him.

Maeve ignores Sarah for a moment, she knows the holy man is the greatest threat and unloads her pistols at Father Connelly. The bullets tear through the old man and he falls to the ground.

Realizing the battle is almost over Gregor decides it is best to leave with the amulet half he has. He changes into mist form to leave.

Fane and Nuala continue their search through Luke’s apartment. Nuala finds the second half of the amulet hidden under a loose floor board.

Sarah wants one of these blood suckers to go down. Her shotgun is empty so she draws her revolver and fires a number of shots at Maeve. Meave is hit multiple times and one bullet manages to hit her jugular vein so she quickly bleeds out and collapses.

Stephon makes short work of the remaining cop and guts him.

Stephon sees Maeve drop and goes berzerk. He jumps onto the car hood and attacks Sarah. He manages to wound Sarah but not badly.

Sarah fights back with her hockey stick but cannot seem to land a blow on Stephon.

On the other side of the block, Alexis stares deeply into Mikes eyes and uses her mesmerizing gaze. Mike fails to resist her power and stands there not taking any action. Alexis puts her pistol to his head and pulls the trigger multiple times. Mike drops.

In the distance more sirens can be heard. This time it will be even more police officers.

Gregor leaves the area in Mist form with one half of the Amulet.

Stephon decides it is best to leave before the other police arrive. He withdraws from combat with Sarah and runs off into the night with Alexis.

Sarah looks around at all her friends lying on the ground. She drops to her knees to try and keep Father Connelly from bleeding to death.

Fane and Nuala quietly slip out from the apartment on the other side. No one is around to notice them as they run into the woods near by holding one half of the amulet.

All in all this was a very bloody game. Over all the vampires came out on top as they got one half of the amulet, they took out 3 of the Order and 1 werewolf. Alexis was badly wounded by she would survive. Stephon had a few minor wounds. Gregor was untouched.The werewolves had a minor victory by finding one half of the amulet. Fane did receive some minor wounds from Keisha but he was able to regenerate those.The Order of Undying light were brutally hit. They lost 4 members of the Order and Sarah was wounded. This night would go down a massacre for the Order.

I have run this scenario four times and have had the Order win twice by finding both amulet halves and leaving with them. Usually this was because the werewolves and vampires got wrapped up in a brawl. The Order have it rather tough as they are the weakest of the three groups, but also have the most models. Safety in numbers. But it also means it is harder to find the amulet pieces. The werewolves are the toughest in the scenario but they also draw the most attention. The Police and others tend to shoot at the 7 feet tall werewolves first than anything else.

In this scenario all the models are created based on my own vision of werewolves and vampires. With the Forsaken rules you can design them to have the abilities and weaknesses you want.

Looking through the scenery you will see it is most of the buildings I have posted before. But I have finally added detailed interiors to each of the building. I even added a new thing I will be incorporating into my new buildings, workable doors. I figured out a way to make movable doors so they will stay open exactly in the place you put it.

Unfortunately the Shellendrak manor has now been put on hold. Cold Wars is coming up and I need to finish some other scenery, plus paint some figures for the two scenarios I will be running. Neither of which use the manor. Maybe the next convention. So for now it will be put aside for more important stuff. But it will be built.

Hopefully everything will fit together nicely but this is the largest piece I have built to date. I am also going to try and do a few new modifications like working doors. It will be nice if everything works as planned. I’ll post more pictures as construction progresses.
