Forsaken Summer Tour 08
May 14th, 2008Well I though I would post the three conventions I am going to this spring/summer running demo games of Forsaken. I realize one is just around the corner (as in this weekend) but the other two are a bit further out. If you happen to be at one of these conventions come by and say hi or better yet, join in a game.
Here is a list of the conventions, the games I will be running, and their descriptions…

A group of young ghost hunters have been hired by a mysterious benefactor to investigate Raithe Manor. Usually, all their investigations into the paranormal reveal that the events were staged. But this time seems different. Locals say the abandoned manor is truly haunted. The story goes, that since old man Raithe died under mysterious circumstances, anyone foolish enough to enter the manor has never been seen or heard from again. Perhaps the four ghost hunters and their dog can prove otherwise.

As you can tell I am running similar scenarios but also adding in a new one each time. Plus all the Historicon games should be taking place in the Manor. I also plan to switch in and out a few objectives and figures to keep things slightly different. I am looking forward to running all the games.
Looking forward to possibly catching you at Historicon. How far along are you with the game? I downloaded a version when you first posted them before looking for playtesters. Unfortunately, I can’t find it! So I can’t wait to get a copy when they are available.
I hope to see you at Historicon. As for the rules they are pretty far along, but of course not as far as I would like ;). All the core rules are finished and have been solid for some time. I need to work on the extra stuff like magic and experience progression. The up side of running demo games at conventions is that it helps spread the word about the game and gets people interested. The down side is that preparing for convention games takes a fair amount of time with scenery building, painting, and scenario design which takes away from rules writing time. But with each step the rules get a bit closer to being finished.
It was great meeting you at Spring Fever. I will hopefully get to play more Forsaken at Historicon. I can’t wait to see what you do with the Manor. It has me tempted to pick one up to make a large building for my Spinespur games. So many projects, so little time.
Looks like I won’t be making it to Historicon due to work. Would have have liked to try out your game. How close are you to releasing it?
Well unfortunately I won’t be making it to Historicon either. But I will be attending future HMGS conventions. So you will have future chances.
As for a release date that still has not been set. Thre is work still to be done, so I am not going to give a release date at this moment. Sorry.
